As a visual designer for TFL, adhering to the company’s design standards was crucial to maintaining a high level of quality and consistency. These standards ensured compliance with the Equality Act 2010, guaranteeing accessibility for all users.
My role involved creating complex visual designs that were as intuitive as possible whilst consistently maintaining colour brand, typography, and overall look and feel all while using established modules and elements that the development teams had already produced.
Adhering to the Equality Act meant ensuring the website functioned seamlessly on any device. This required creating responsive designs where components and complex tables adapted to both large and small screens, allowing users to complete their tasks efficiently regardless of the browser or device they were using.
Designing complex tables and accordions to create easy-to-follow structures that guide users to accomplish their goals on the website.
Focusing on creating clean, functional designs that remain neutral was imperative, especially when users are using the site to pay fines and parking tickets.
